Happy Monday to you PFL! I’m linking up with Nellie because I think it’s a great way to start the year on a healthy living fitness blog!
Diversify 1 of my workout days!!! – I usually try to workout 5 days a week. My plan is to take 1 of those days to utilize my home fitness DVD library more and try out some new DVDs. Thanks to Brittany and Kim, I’ve been salivating over trying a few.
Attend a Fitness Blog Conference – FitBloggin is in my FAVORITE city second to home…Savannah! It is too close and I desperately want to attend. I read all the awesome recaps last year and regretted my decision of not going. After much debate, I’ve made the decision to forgo the Delta Regional Conference that is being held the same weekend 🙁 ! It’ll be the first one I’ve missed in about 8 years!
I will be first online to register for fitbloggin when it opens next month!
Take Les Mills RPM from my sister as often as my schedule permits.
Go to a CrossFit orientation and try a class. The people I follow socially have me dying to try this.
Attend Les Mills mega quarterly in New Orleans this June! Attending this major event will also position me to accomplish a goal I previously mentioned in my 33 before 33 list…
- Aim 1 workshop for BODYCOMBAT.
Choreograph my class. This is a huge task for me, as you may remember, this takes a lot of energy for me. I’m MOST excited about this!
Host a community fitness event >>>> “Fight Party” coming soon. The point is to get more men acclimated to group fitness.
Participate in a current or organize a seasonal basketball league.
I would like to go up on my bicep weight in BODYPUMP!
Incorporate more active fellowshipping opportunities with friends and family like Adult Family Fun night at the Skate Center.
I will keep you posted with all of these fitness inspired to dos!
Yours in Healthy, Active, & Prosperous Lifestyles,

I’d totally be lying if I didn’t admit that my favorite goal of yours is to attend FitBloggin! 🙂
But I also love that you are looking to up your weights in BodyPump! I love the feeling when you can make the next leap in weights.
Kimberly (Manifest Yourself) recently posted…Journey to Wellness 1/6
The weights have been tough, but I’m sticking with it. Can’t wait to meet!
Awesome fitness bucket list! You turned me on to bodypump. You’ll be happy to know I’ve been consistently twice a week for the last 2 wks. I’m officially in love. That’s my way of diversifying my workouts from running. I’m still debating crossfit though. Love your fight party concept. Sounds like it’s gonna be a blast. The friends and family fellowship is a great idea. I think you’re poised for a great 2014.
btw…I think your guns are totally strong enough for an increase in weights. They might not even notice the difference that much 🙂

BODYPUMP is so great! I’m glad you have taken a liking to it. It really does help tone the muscles. Twice a week is a great compliment to your other workouts!
I want to try crossfit this year! I keep seeing posts about it and I am intrigued!!
Yes, the posts are what got me too.
After just under a year of blogging and learning about the plethora of conferences out there, I definitely would have considered trying to go to at least one this year, but as you know, duty calls as a wife and momma so I will be home growing a baby, taking care of hubby and nurturing a toddler while I read all of your blogs that share all of the wonderful tips that I missed out on getting in person! I’m not really upset about this. My blog friends know how much I enjoy learning more about blogging and are nice enough to even share some things with me offline which is wonderful.
So I can’t believe you are 33! I have a friend who is 31 and we were talking about the dark skinned girl racism that is out there and you know I had to mention your post that you did a while back about that and I showed her a picture of you because I think you are just so beautiful! xo

Great fitness bucket list! I would love to try to run this year.

I love your list!! I need to make a FitList this year as well! I am trying to decide what conference to attend this year. FitBloggin was so much fun last year! I loved it! Hopefully we will meet IRL at one of these events. Also, thanks for the shout out!

I know, I wish I was up in NY. You all have plenty of mingling opportunities.
I may attend one conference this year but it won’t be a blog conference it will be a branding conference for my business. If I spend money on something it will be spending money on making me money and blogging does not make me money lol. My goal this year is to move around more.

I heard that Kita! Makes plenty of cents to me!
Just curious, Joi, when you are teaching do you go as heavy as you can or keep it lighter? I can see where both would have advantages. There are a few new DVDs I’d like to try because of Brittany.
I am taking a CrossFit class this Saturday.
Carla recently posted…Half Marathon Training: Month One
I have made it my business since the day I started teaching to go as heavy as I can while teaching. At times I teach so much that I can’t afford to cheat myself out of the workout while teaching bc I don’t have time to do extras. I was probably able to do this because, when I was taking the class I used lower weights than what was recommended for an instructor. So, I instantly went up on most all tracks because our trainer pushed us to go up and she wouldn’t allow any baby weights in our certification video. Basically, I’m trying to say, as an instructor, I got challenged from the beginning so I had to adapt to it and talking at the same time from day 1.
I’m doing the planking challenge this month. And many more hikes in the woods. That’s my fitness challenge! I’m thinking of going to BlogU in June in Baltimore. I’d LOVE to do BlogHer – it will be on my birthday and in my favorite state! I’m also doing BBC in Philly in September.

So encouraging! I really think what’s hindering from building my BB business is my lack of classes (well, that and getting out of my comfort zone). I will be doing more this year, including hosting at least one class by my bday. Look forward to more posts!

Third – I would love to go to FitBloggin’ but I have to see what Chris has going in the way of trips (since his are work related!!).

This is an awesome fitlist bucket list! I’m sure FitBloggin will be a great experience…I’ve read the best recaps on that conference! I’m still planning which two conferences I want to attend this year. Happy New Year Joi!

I thought you would have been 100% wedding focused! Maybe we’ll end up at an event together.
You’re making so many of us look like slackers! (or maybe just me) Anyway, I love that you’ve incorporated fitness as well as personal goals together. It’s good to keep the balance. And thanks for some more inspiration for home workout DVDs. I’m ready for a change!

Change is great! All though, it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted this and I’ve only done 1 real day of using the DVD. We will see how the week goes.
So I didn’t know Fitbloggin’ was going to Savannah! I may have to go!

I like your goal of more fellowshipping activities. You might want to use my 40 Date Night post to for some activity ideas. Not a shameless plug…lol. I really do think I would be helpful. Can you do a blog post on how to be self-motivated and confident when working out alone both in and outside of the gym. Please? And thank you.

I definitely want to go to Bloggy Boot Camp in Atlanta this year. Fitness wise…I’m trying to do healthier snacks. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE food and it’s difficult to back away so I’m going to try some alternative snacking. Great list, Joi!

Hey Joi!! Happy New Year my friend! Sounds like a power packed year of fitness goals for you lady! I would love to go to the next SITs Bloggy Bootcamp. Hate that I missed it last year due to a scheduling conflict…and it didn’t help that it was only an hour away. 🙁 As far as the fitness, you’ll be glad to know that I’m incorporating some into my life this year, lol! Have a good one! 😉
