Welcome to the third installment of Fit 2 B Dressed: because we don’t work out just for our health, but to look good 😉 !
Most people don’t really think of our local beach as a beach, but we have one out on Lake Tobesofkee. My sister dragged me there on one of her off days and I had a little fun, all though you know I’m not getting the hair wet unless it’s the day before my hair appointment 🙂 #Don’tJudgeMe!!!
Since it’s the summertime, we are talking swimwear today!
In traveling to the beach, you just have to have a cover up!
I quickly got rid of this sucker! I took like 2 pictures and it was a wrap!
I will wear both two pieces and one pieces. This day, I chose a simple one piece, nothing fancy but it compliments my body (at least I think so) 🙂 ! The young one had on another basic black one piece that has a cover up built into the suit if you want a more conservative look!
I absolutely will not hit the beach (or outside) without my shades! I mentioned in What Readers Ought to Know about Rx Fitness Lady that I was a complete shades addict. Do you like these frames on me?
So, if you haven’t already noticed in the pictures….
I can pretty much work marketing my blog into any atmosphere. I got new bracelets 🙂 . These should not fade as easily. I love them and I gave out plenty of them on my vacation 😉
SN – If you are looking for a tip for marketing to people, wear like 3 on each arm when it’s appropriate. People always ask, “what’s up with all the bracelets”, pull one off, give it to them, & give them your 15 second blog promo 🙂 !
I’m so jealous of my sister’s paraphernalia. She was given a Delta EVERYTHING when she crossed over. Our Centennial Celebration will continue as the National Convention starts this weekend in D.C. I’m pretty sure there will be over 50,000 visitors there to paint the town red!
Back to the post….
I called myself bringing entertainment. I had my little chair for while my sister was going to lay out and “get some sun” side-eye!!! Anywho, those apple products got warm quick and cut off on me…bad idea, lol!
It was ridiculously H.O.T. out there! Apple wasn’t the only thing too hot! We packed a little cooler that contained some “store brand” H20 :), Praise the Lord!!! I almost passed out!

Love the shades on you. i have similar shades. I love the large frames. I’m a one piece-er. Even when i was super fit and super slim pre-baby, I gravitated to the one piece. I would wear something like your sister has on…with the built in cover up.
I enjoy the beach, but only to sit in the shade or play with the kids in ankle deep water. it’s funny how both our post are talking about the beach or pool and the heat today. Love It!!!

Love the sunglasses. I have not been to a beach in a while but I normally go in clothes its cool in the evenings which is the time I prefer to go. Love that chair too but why do I see computers no working on the beach lol

IKR…the iPAD has my playlist and the Mac was to charge the Jam (bluetooth). They ALL got to hot, lol…very bad idea! So we had no music. Next time, I’m going in the evening as well!

You are lookin fab in that one piece ma’am. I do like your shades. I’m a fan of basic black sunglasses. That is a really good idea to wear bracelets as a marketing tool. You must have majored in Pharmacy with a minor in Marketing.

Looking great, Joi! For me, a two piece but you look awesome in a one piece. If I looked like that, I may change my mind. My body has been in transition with pregnancy and nursing but with my daughter it went somewhat back to normal after a year and a half and I could do the two piece again. I don’t feel quite ready yet..but I think I’m close…
I go to the beach (ocean) but I don’t really like to swim in it. I prefer pools for swimming!

Me too! I kept standing at the edge of the water looking at the “things” swimming around, it just grosses me out. I kept complaining about the fish touching the kids in the water. My sister was just shaking her head at me.
the shades frame your face nicely…super cute! i’ve not been in any kind of swimwear since gawd-knows-when…although i said this summer would be “the one” for me to hit the pool. still ain’t happened, but when i do – it’ll be in a one-piece number.

You ladies are working those swimsuits! I’m a one piece girl but if I had the body for a two piece–I would do it. The bigger the frame the better when I do shades. I need some new ones too. I cringed when I saw the pic of your laptop out there in the sun. Not a good idea, Joi. I like the pool but if there is an ocean nearby–that’s what I prefer. I love lying on the beach with a cool libation and a book or magazine. Not crazy about lakes.

I didn’t know they got hot like that. I don’t usually spend a lot of time at the beach and the only reason we had products was to try to play music. Next time, we’ll go old school with the boom box 🙂 Maybe, I’ll bring a book now after reading your comment. The problem with that is I download almost everything now.

3. Bikini (sometimes I worry that I’m too old but then I think about how hard I work to be able to wear it)
4. I rarely swim – but laying out reading is my favorite!!! (it has to be well over 100 for me to get in unless we are at the ocean then I will get in)

You look great! Love the cover-up. I just bought a one piece and that’s what I’m most comfortable in. It’s my first suit in years. I prefer the pool and I love oversized shades.

Love your shades! My son’s friend asked the other day why women always wear such big sunglasses. I looked at him with mine on, then I took them off and said to him “Look at me. I look better with shades on.” He shrugged his shoulders and moved on. It’s true though! Sunglasses totally make an outfit! You look fantastic in your suit too, btw!

One piece or two piece swimsuit? One piece at the moment.
Do you swim in the lake, ocean, pool? Which do you prefer? Girl you know WE DON”T SWIM. Well, I can’t swim to survive in the ocean, but I think if I found a tree branch, I could swim my butt over to it.
What else do you do at the beach besides swim? If I go with kids I focus on them and build sandcastles and play in the water. One thing I don’t need is a tan.
What frame of sunglasses do you like the best? I don’t have a preference because I always buy the cheap brands, but I don’t care for them being to thick.

Yeah, my Aunt is about that far from us and we make it over there monthly and sometimes she comes here in between. I think monthly is a good goal and manageable, especially if you can take turns traveling.
I used to be a 2 piece suit girl…but I’ve resorted to a no-piece. I haven’t worn a bathing suit in a very long time. (With the exception of my honey moon last year in a foreign island where no one would know me accept my hubby.) Terrible, I know. I’m working on it though.

I am down for a one-piece or two-piece. If it’s cute I’m wearing it. I have to high-5 you on mentioning the SPF 30. I am a huge skincare fanatic and I WILL NOT leave the house without an SPF of 30 or more – rain, sleet, or snow. I don’t really swim. I chill…lol. I’m an old school sunglasses lover. I’ve been wearing super huge frames since middle school or so. They joked me then but now who gets the last laugh????

Love your bathing suit! It was nearly impossible for me to find a basic black suit this year. Most of them just don’t provide my girls the support or coverage they need…so frustrating! When I look for sunglasses I want my eyebrows to show. Been there with the Apple in the sun. Now I just take a Kindle to read. I love your sister’s bathing suit. That one is my style. I think it’s hip friendly. So where do you get the bracelets made? I think that’s a great marketing thing.
So one piece, at the pool for a swim. At the beach definitely under and umbrella enjoying the sights, sounds, smells and reading if I can. Sunglasses for the most eye protection but if I’m trying to be cute from here to there, a pair with my eyebrows showing.

Hum, I can’t imagine my eyebrows showing, I guess because I always opt for large frames. I used 24hourwristbands to get both sets of mine done.

I like both swimsuits (yours and the little one) and both are super flattering. Tankinis in public, count that however you’d like. Pool. Boats for everything out. Fish nipping at my legs creeps me out. And ocean water is sticky. I have a lot of “rules” LOL

I’m a one-piece gal! I probably could get away with a two-piece, but I’m more comfortable with a one piece. Actually, I carried back a two piece to the store just yesterday. Felt a little too exposed! 🙂

Other than being in the water, swimming, floating, or letting the waves lift me up, I like walking along the seashore, reading, and just lying on the sand and listening to the waves lapping (or roaring, depending on the weather!). I like cloud-gazing too, trying to imagine that I see faces and other formations in the clouds.
I feel the same way in 2 pieces. Cover me up please! Funny, I feel that way more if I’m going to be around black men. Otherwise, I don’t really care much. Ha, I guess I don’t think white men are interested in me, if I did, I’d probably want to cover up from them too.
