Why You Should Try Les Mills BODYCOMBAT

This time of year people like to make excuses for eating a lot! I say, it’s the perfect time to try something new!

For Act-Fit Friday, I’m giving you some reasons why I LOVE Les Mills BODYCOMBAT! Hopefully, you will consider giving it a try or another form of MMA workouts, kickboxing, or home dvds in this area.

Why You Should Try Les Mills BODYCOMBAT
“BODYCOMBAT™ is the empowering group fitness cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by mixed martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai.”

When I started this post, I looked at the website and their list of benefits were pretty much what I was trying to communicate so I’m sharing that information with you verbatim.

 Benefits (Straight from the website)

  • Gets you fighting fit and looking ripped
  • Improves heart and lung function and reduces the risk of heart disease
  • Tones and shapes key muscle groups
  • Maximizes calorie burn during and after your workout
  • Develops co-ordination and agility of a mized martial arts warrior
  • Teaches you the moves of an elite martial arts expert
  • Improves bone density
  • Improves posture, core strength and stability
  • Builds self-confidence, strength and power
  • Keep pushing your limits with quarterly new releases

All of these are why I love BODYCOMBAT.  In addition

  1. I’m joining the fitness center at my job! The group classes are closed during the semester break, but they offer various group fitness classes each semester. I’ll definitely check to see if they’ll be offering bodycombat or something similar in January. These benefits sound exactly like what I need for my body!

  2. You know how bad I want to try this right? I am going to have to get some equipment and get the dvds! (hello santa!) I am actually terrible about working out at home but I feel like this would be a good one!! I am going extra hard in the gym, and counting every calorie to keep those pounds away (where they belong! 🙂

    1. You are doing a fabulous job at it. Keep up the good work. I’m seriously debating Savannah this year. Maybe we can BODYCOMBAT then. It just happens to fall the same exact weekend as our Delta Regional Conference 🙁 Decisions….

  3. I am like 700 calories……hmmm this is tempting ….almost but I am going to make excuses and I have no plans on how I will keep the extra weight off for the holidays. I weighed myself today and I have not gained nor lost a lb so I think I am safe for the holidays….I think.

    1. Thanks Carli! I would love to take some kickboxing classes from others if there was time. The only thing I really compare it to is all my Tabeo DVDs.

  4. I wish I could work out with you!! My favorite workout this week was a snowy hike in the woods. Not great for upper body, until you factor in that I was holding Des! And he’s no lightweight. I don’t gain weight easily yet in life, so the holidays are not usually a problem. I’m sure my metabolism will catch up with me someday…
I’d love to be more toned, though. And good health is very important to me.

  5. WOW! Hmm… I’ll take “I will ease back into to my exercise routine slowly & not kill myself” for $100 Alex. LOL! Loving the benefits, but for now I think I’ll stick with my toning & sculpting video by Denise Austin. I’m still having a hard time trying to get through The Firm workout. :O
