What Readers Ought to Know about Rx Fitness Lady

Today I’m getting a little personal here and letting you in on a few things about me that you wouldn’t know from reading this blog.  I have shared a bit about my profession in the past here with Customer Service Confessions.  I also shared a bit about my sorority, undergrad institution,  & my hometown.  This blog is all about my passion for fitness, health, prosperity, and a little dose of  the reality that goes along with it.

My friend Hope of Defining Hope seemed to appreciate that I shared a bit of my personality a few weeks ago here, so here we go!

About Rx Fitness Lady

22 THINGS ABOUT RX FITNESS LADY YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN

I read and usually get a kick out of every joke on the Laffy Taffy wrapper! Favorite flavors are banana and grape.

YUMMY!
YUMMY!

I call my friend’s personal cell, work cell, work phone, and house phone when I want to talk if they don’t answer.  (I stalk in real life, just like I do your blogs 😉 )

I don’t like chocolate anything!  Apparently there’s some distinction amongst chocolate partakers because people are always asking me “what about chocolate cake, ice cream, candy bars, etc???”  I don’t like the taste of ANY of it.

I put Vaseline on my feet Everyday because I don’t like seeing ashy heels on females in the summertime, kinda of a pet peeve.

I’ve been to more Destiny’s Child & Beyonce concerts than I can remember!

I always get disappointed when the wash girl taps me to get up because she’s finished shampooing my hair…so relaxing!

I REALLY try to hold grudges, like eye for eye stuff but I just can’t.  I get over it very quickly and revert back to the supportive dependable friend…Pray for me 🙂

The job I would love to have if I were absolutely going to do something totally different would be a sound engineer for programmed TV.  Two examples of my favorite shows music wise are The Game and Entourage.

I have a thing for shades & big earrings!

Rx Fitness Lady

I’ve worn shades of gold lipstick ONLY and gloss since I was 16.

I have a name for my weapon…Fluellen!

I find it creepy when we have to look around slowly every month for communion at church because Pastor says we never know who will be there next time.

I get annoyed if I’m in the same place and dressed like another female, but particularly if we are in 2 totally different age brackets.

I often invert numbers.  I have missed a flight due to this issue 🙁

I get confused when people give me money to pay then say stuff like hold on I have 10 cents.  I am calculator spoiled.  Usually I’ll ignore them and just give them the change that’s already coming to them.

Also along those lines, when military people give their date of birth, I always type it wrong bc they do date first.

I refuse to call adults by their childhood nicknames.

Also on names, I would never give my child a ghetto name, however I heart the name Khyrea (ky-ree-uh), lol!

{Mother} – I have expensive taste and I’m creative.  I take affairs of the family very serious and try to make sure we stay connected on both sides by way of reunions and family dinners.

{Daddy} – his exact words “I make a dolla holla…stingy”.  I died my hair orange for my graduation pictures (me – that was an accident).

SN:  This is what you get for asking a man to join in the fun, SMH!

{Sister} – I ask a million questions and didn’t start shaving my legs until I was 23.

{BFF} – I’m always on people about being late and I go to a convention for EVERYTHING (church, fitness, sorority, & now blogging).

That’s all folks!  Hope you enjoyed.

  1. I love these!!! These were all things I didn’t know but I needed to know. I still love that you could intimidate professors with a single glance.

I’m sort of the opposite with names. Once I know you as a certain name, it’s hard for me to call you something else. I probably call all people by their childhood nicknames if I knew them back then!

I had no idea that you didn’t like chocolate. My husband is the same way. I thought he was the only one in the world!! (I cannot imagine…simply cannot imagine!)

This was totally fun!! I love that you included a few things from your friends and family, too! They had good ones (even if your orange graduation hair was an accident) –Lisa

    1. Haha that hair was a nightmare and he knows it! I hinknh jut wanted to be funny! The hubs has good taste buds, lol!

  2. One of my good friends doesn’t like chocolate at all, or coffee. People are constantly trying to give it to her and she really just truly doesn’t like it in any form! I think it gets annoying that people can’t accept that answer! She just had a baby and I will make her a salted caramel dessert.

Ashy feet are pretty gross! If you can’t afford a pedicure, there are many good homemade ways to take good care of your feet.

I thought it was fun that your family and friend joined in!
Tamara recently posted…I Know I’m Not Alone..My Profile

    1. Tamara it DOES get annoying. You reminded me of something! I don’t drink coffee or tea either…two other items people are always trying to give me anyway. How thoughtful of you to make her an appropriate dessert!

    1. Michelle I really have to watch that numbers issue! That’s how I verify the correct medication is in the bottle…don’t be afraid to come to me for your prescription though, lol!

  3. Oh ok… I’ve got one that packages two of these things together. In New Orleans 2007, we went to see Beyonce (thaKing) at the Essences Festival- You had us all behind the stage during the concert because you inverted the numbers- and we just followed you around like some ducks not looking at our tickets. Now that’s funny! #goodoldinvertednumbersmemories

  4. Love this post! Thanks for the shout out! Love Laffy Taffy’s jokes too. I LOLOL at your Dad’s comment. *still smiling*. I wish I hated chocolate…it’s one of my downfalls…smh. It’s great that you can’t hold grudges. Stop trying girl…that’s a good thing 🙂 Can’t stand the ashy feet either although sometimes I’ guilty (running has been a bit harsh on my feet), but I’m always conscious when it’s not up to par. LOL at Fuellen! It’a so awesome that your mom is your soror (wrong posts). I really enjoyed this post!

    1. I’m so glad Hope bc you inspired me to jot down a few personals to share. I make up for the chocolate with my own issues: pizza, buffalo wings, and the infamous Dr. pepper! Run it off boo! We can’t be stellar role models 24/7!

I will try to cut out the silliness of holding grudges my friend!

  5. I use to always find it creepy when Gammage said that too…and everyone turns around all slow…lol…we both have expensive taste…I think having a salary did that to me…lol

    1. Fo sho the salary did it to me too. I look at my old pictures from school now and I think….trick you done got bougie, lol!

Chills run down my body when everyone starts turning around…I REALLY don’t like that.

    1. You are going to have a blast!

Britton I know it’s ghetto…but just say it a few times…it has my personality, lol. I can’t do that to the baby though.

    1. I corrected my contact form so you can change your name from triple yum yucky if you like my friend, lol! Voicemail is the pits especially from work!

  6. Gurrl that name is Hood! LOL but I will still have love for keekee if you name your daughter that! LOL

I agree about the chocolate. I mean it tastes good but I dont go out of my way for it. I think chocolate ice cream is a monstrosity.

    Make a dolla holla! #ihowled

    sound engineer! very interesting!!

This was fun, I enjoyed learning more about you my friend!

    1. Please do not encourage my father, they all read the blog and for some reason they only want to know what Nellie and Kita said.

I think I will give lil Keekee a real name for documentation and job hunting purposes…but I might just give my own child a nickname…something I just told y’all I despise!

  7. Love this! Keep this coming. I love the tell all. Hahaha. I love the big glasses and gold earrings. I’ve sported copper lipstick like forever, I don’t even know why I stopped…I really need to get some now.

    1. I just might jot down some more personals for later. It was fun to share and I’m glad you all received it well. Fashion fair iced toffee is a great one to rekindle the flame, lol.

  8. LOL…so funny, I am not the only one that will track a person down on all levels of communication and I take it a step futher I will even start over again and at least make an attempt via cellular one more time. I will peg you as an information junkie, (a good thing) and attend a lot of seminars …you present yourself as one that love to be informed. Enjoyed the read…fitandbeyond40.com

    1. Margaret..ME TOO! I will hit up that main cell once again and shoot a text about what I wanted…that is too funny!

I embrace the title you have given me…info junkie…I like!

  9. Lol great getting to know you. If its important and I have to track you down we need to talk about our friendship. The nickname thing girlllll my hubs got a nickname and I refuse to call him that ghetto mess. If I call his name around family members they will say you talking bout *insert nickname* no duh yes you don’t know his real name…smh. Let’s see one thing you might not know about me….I can sing.
    Kita recently posted…Pinterest WednesdayMy Profile

    1. Yeah, I hate when people side eye me for calling folks by their real name.

Girl you are full of talent! Cooking and singing…almost sound like a first lady 😉

  10. Hi Joi,

I just re-organised by Bloglovin account so all my fave Blog posts come up first, ha ha so I don’t miss any during the days I have the time to read (most days!) – so on that note – I love this post – great to know more about you. Hysterical that you stalk your friends on all numbers until you get them!! Also, that change thing – I always had a problem with that “oh I have ten cents…so…” – I just hand back the change that I was giving to begin with!! Good point.

Nice to know more – love the gold lipstick – I love that, I haven’t worn any in awhile, but now I am going to Sephora to get some.

    Enjoy the day!

    1. Isn’t that annoying when they do that! It’s like…have your money straight…I don’t have time to actully use my brain, lol. We have so much in common 🙂 I need to reorganize my bloglovin as well.

  11. I had to laugh about the communion thing. I’ve not thought about that before. Of course, I’m Lutheran and we can be a little to stuck up sometimes. We netter be checking who’s next to us.

Something you don’t know about me. I have more explicit versions of rap on my IPod than any other type of music. I just love rap.

I really like unusual and different names. My kids have at least one twist: Ryan (girl), Xavier, Mykael (sounds like Michael).

I’ve only recently started liking chocolate. In general I would rather have broccoli. Or watermelon. My fave foods.
Carli recently posted…I Am Healthy & Active Because I CAN Be #C9atTarget #todaysvictoryMy Profile

    1. LOVE the names of your kids…really!

My music is so explicit, ha! Learn more and more everyday! Love you Carli girl!

    1. I think they think it’s manly to walk around looking like a cave man, lol! They need to go one time to the nail salon and then they will conquer that issue of their masculinity from getting their feet done!

  12. Hey Joi, I knew all of those things and much much more. I know you will not wear anything with a red K on it. This started she you were only two years old! Lol

    1. Ha Ha and your were the wiser, cutting the K’s out! You can’t try that anymore, lol! Thanks for sharing that…good one!

  13. Hey that was pretty neat!! It’s always great when people are willing to be transparent about themselves. Shows so much confidence and bravery-plus it lets the world know you are comfortable in your skin and with your journey and you don’t mind telling it! Keep up the great work Joi- you are an inspiration to so many, me included!!

P.S. it’s nice to know someone else on this planet is not a chocolate advocate. If I got one more blank state after telling someone I don’t like chocolate like that….

    1. Such a sweet comment Ericka! Love that you are tuned in…that’s encouraging to me…Thank you! I’m immune to the chocolate lovers replies but it is annoying.

  14. What a fun post! I love hearing more about you. I’m definitely also a sunglasses/big earring girl. Occasionally I try a fun necklace/scarf, but I always miss my earrings! (P.S. – You look amazing in that blue dress. It really shows off your arms.) (P.P.S – I hope that didn’t sound creepy)

  15. Doh, if you don’t like ashy feet, you probably won’t like my unshaven legs. I know it’s gross, but I always think – who’s really staring at my legs? I guess people do! I am just sooo lazy.
catherine gacad recently posted…Eyes Wide ShutMy Profile

  16. “Make a dolla holla” LOL!

I can’t believe there’s another gal out there that doesn’t like chocolate! I thought I was the only one. 🙂 However, I DO like chocolate cake. (As well as banana Laffy Taffies.)

And, I think it’s a lovely trait that you don’t hold grudges. Really! Most people do hold grudges, and it’s not a good thing. I like this about you.

    XOXO,
    Meredith

P.S. Please don’t think that I only come by and comment after you’ve commented on my posts. It’s a timing thing, trust me! I read your posts on my cell phone and then usually do all my emails/comments at night when the kids are down. I always read your blog. 🙂
Meredith recently posted…9 Ways To Get Financially OrganizedMy Profile

    1. Meredith, no worries my friend! I’m happy whenever you stop by and leave your sweet comments!

  17. I am with you on the ghetto names. As an educator, I have seen more than I care to. And, the names get more creative all of the time. I think that names are so important. I gave my children names with meanings.

I totally agree on the ashy feet thing – ha! ha!
On the other hand, I love me some chocolate. Banana Laffy Taffy is my favorite. Thanks for sharing. It is such a joy to stop by your blog.

    1. Thank you Trinity! I love it when you come by! I know I’m an outsider with the chocolate but we can share some taffies girlfriend!

  18. This is such a great post! I laughed a lot. I love that you laugh at Laffy Taffy wrappers; those are the worst! I’m guessing you have heard endless complaints about your aversion to chocolate. Even as I’m reading it, before you said anything, I was listing the chocolate things you may like. What about oreos 😉 And the line about giving people change really made me laugh out loud.
Angela Gilmore recently posted…Vegan Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Raisins – Feeding the 3:00 BeastMy Profile

    1. Yes ma’am Angela, that’s why I figure it must taste different to you all, that is always a trip to me. Glad I could make you smile.

    1. I was all “basketball girl..I don’t have to that crap”, lol…shameful now when I think about it.

  19. I despise chocolate. I can stomach it if it is coating raising but just a chocolate bar. Nope. Can’t stand ice cream or chocolate cake. People look at you like you are crazy when you say you are a woman who doesn’t like chocolate.

I despise tardy people. I think it is totally disrespectful of other people’s time. Kind of like you forgiving people, no matter how much I know someone will be late I always have to be on time. That burns my husband up but I am a stickler for time. I can’t let other people’s actions cause me to be late. Cause that one time I’m late they may be on time!
Mimi recently posted…Let’s Catch UpMy Profile

    1. Yes they don’t like non chocolate lovers…think were from Mars.

I agree about the tardiness! You are right…the one time you show up tardy they will be glancing with the side eye! Good one!
