More Than A Pretty Face & U.O.E.N.O.it

I had no idea it was Sisters’ Day this past Sunday! I was on my work week and woke up to see this mention on Instagram & A Happy Sisters’ Day message.

Sisters' Day Tribute

Of course, I had to post on my own TL with a note of my own :)

Responsible Pharmacists Recycle

It’s DAY 3 of my first blog event: the 7 Day Mini Blog Challenge Party!  Today’s topic for bloggers participating is “My Passion Is (Fill in the Blank)” or “A Virtual Vision Board“.

If you’re just tuning into this PAR-TAY, ENTER MY $100 GIVEAWAY HERE!

Many of you probably gathered that I’d talk about group fitness or maybe breakdown my vision board from the girl’s weekend!  I beat that horse on a regular around these parks! Today for the party, I’m sharing something very near and dear to me.

My childhood best friend’s mother instilled in me these recycling habits and they stuck!   Nothing irritates more than to see things being wasted. That’s exactly what we do when we don’t recycle…create waste!  I recycle all kinds of stuff and I advise you do the same if you have access to recycling pick up in your neighborhood.  All though, my best friend’s mom use to transport that stuff downtown herself!  Anywho, Today I’m talking recycling in the pharmacy.

How to Verbally Nix Sexual Harassment

Greetings PFL!  I have some maintenance issues before we get started with the topic for today.  First and most important – I was a guest on Nellie’s blog yesterday, YAY!  Please go check out the post and show her some love while you are there. She has shown me so much love and I appreciate her beyond what I can type in this little paragraph.

The SITSgirls featured my post from last week yesterday as well.  The discussion has been steady every since it posted.   I have learned a lot about varying opinions when it comes to commenting on blogs and I appreciate all of your input.   I have found a #25!  Make sure your comment form is visible to the commenter when they are typing their name.  I got checked about 10 times for that :) .  That should be corrected now.  Let me know if you are still having problems.

BTW…how are you liking getting my replies to your comments via email?  I am loving that it adds to the discussion!

Back to regular programming….

Today we are speaking from the prosperity arm of PFL.   If you get your primary income by working for someone else, then you need to read this.  Women and men for that matter that work outside of the home, I have some questions for you.

DIY Baby Pharmacy & A Medication Storage Tip

This is probably one of only a select few  DIY projects you will ever find on this blog.  It’s National Poison Prevention week in case you missed my boring informative post from Monday :) .   It was more for my Mommy friends and so is today!  Trust me, it benefits everyone though.  In keeping with Poison Prevention week, I thought I’d share one of my favorite gifts to give.

Almost three summers ago while I was awaiting these two to enter the world…

Rock the Red Pump with Rx Fitness Lady

Happy Sunday everyone! Today is National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.  I’m dedicating my blog post to talking about HIV/AIDS for the Rock the Red pump Project.

Red Pump Project

Part of the project requires you to put on a pair of your favorite red shoes! I don’t have any red pumps that I want to wear to church today but I will be rocking my red cowgirl boots to go visit my family in Sparta, GA after church!

Red Boots Los AltosSince I started this blog at the end of 2012, I have had quite a few posts dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness.   In preparing my previous posts, I stumbled upon an opportunity and joined NBHAAD as a Community Ambassador where my role is to remind people about NBHAAD (National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day).  That 13th annual day of recognition & a reminder to get your annual HIV test was on February 7th. You can see the mission through this photo and read the post hereContinue reading

You Should Blog About It Debut: What to do With a Hater

Do you have a hater?  Well of course you do! We all have them.  Some of us are guilty of being haters.  Since I teach a mixed martial arts inspired class, often times I’ll ask people to imagine their haters in front of them when I need them to turn up the intensity and automatically you see mean faces and harder kicks and punches.  All walks of life deal with haters from day to day.  No need to lose any sleep over it.

For any number of reasons in life, you are bound to pick up a hater.  I pick up some just because of my demeanor. You may get that as well, or maybe; you lost a lot of weight, started a business, joined the church, married a “top bachelor”, landed an amazing job, bought a nice car, beat the odds, had children before your close friend/family member, skin complexion, etc.

Definition voted best on Urban dictionary

“A person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.

Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock someone else down a notch.”

PSA #2: THE FLU SHOT IS NOT MAKING YOU SICK

Public Service Announcement #2: Contrary to popular opinion, the flu shot really isn’t making you sick, unless of course you have an allergy to eggs!  I hear from every other person, “that flu shot made me sick last time, I’m never getting it again”.   Please bear with me for a few during My Health Monday as I challenge your thinking on that.

THIS COULD BE YOU!

THIS COULD BE YOU!

PSA: New Product ORAQUICK for HIV testing

Do you know someone who refuses to get an HIV test? I know you do, and it is repulsive to me from a healthcare and personal perspective, especially if the person engages in high-risk activity.  That is straight buffoonery to potentially knowingly infect someone else with an incurable disease just in the name of hum-mm…. Y.O.L.O. (You only live once), I guess.

Some people truly might have stigmas associated with testing.  That’s why I love this new product and think it deserves a public service announcement just in case you missed the advertisement.

Here’s the Skinny on ORAQUICK
