Last week, Les Mills hosted a BODYPUMP 100 Competition! BODYPUMP 100 is being filmed next month in New Zeland. Any instructor up for it was charged with sharing a story to compete for the chance to travel to New Zealand and be part of the taping. The taping is what over 100,000 instructors world-wide use in combination with choreographed notes to learn the release. Super exciting stuff right? Well, we had to share a story about our first/favorite BODYPUMP release in less than 250 words. I am sharing mine here with you today and hopefully I’m a good contender ! So how does one participate in a launch for such a special occasion? Well, you do so globally on January 14th, 2017 with the rest of the tribe. Let’s talk about how we can make it memorable…
Will you be returning to Les Mills BODYPUMP 98 in the near future?
I am a Les Mills BODYPUMP instructor that has been teaching for 4 & ½ years in the United States. I’ve been doing sporadic reviews on this blog since it’s inception in 2012. The purpose of my reviews are for one to share any thoughts and tips that I can come up with for those of you who land here regularly and two, to have an easy reminder of the tricky/tedious things to be aware of when I return to the releases when mixing on down the line.
I invite instructors near and far to leave any additional tips and thoughts in the comments sections, pin the picture above, & utilize these reviews the same as me! Les Mills participants and readers of PFL I always invite you to read along as well and contribute any feedback you have that I have missed. Continue reading
This past weekend I checked off one of my fit list desires from a few years ago & attended my first pole dancing class at PoleLaTeaz Atlanta. Hennessy, that’s me! We had to pick stripper names & the pretty brown brown seemed to fit !
The beautiful bride to be pictured above was surprised with a bachelorette party chain of events. PoleLaTeaz Atlanta just happened to be the kick off we needed to get the evening started to find our sexy! Continue reading
It’s time for my summer Les Mills reviews! Before I jump into those reviews, we’re going to chat connecting with your group fitness participants. As I stated last week, I’m adjusting to a new schedule. With that new schedule, I’ll be teaching in a new time slot for BODYPUMP! I am going to have to connect with these new members and I’m looking for you to help me out with this list!
You can laugh at me if you like for this post, but I know for sure there is another person out there that was just like me, so here we go….
The fact of the matter is, quite a few of the question’s that come from my blog’s email are about Les Mills group fitness. Many of those Les Mills questions are from people preparing for Les Mills Initial Training, so here’s the first step!
June is here which means it’s my birthday month! I took the week off after having to work on my birthday last year! June is a popular month for vacations, family reunions, camps, etc. You already know this Millennial believes everyone should take their vacation days. Today we are talking staying active in the summer months even with all the activities!
Times have changed so much from when I was child. We used to love to play outside and generally craved physical activities. Now there is so much technology to warp our minds that our desires often leave us super sedentary. Planning some activities to move your body will prevent gaining lazy weight over the summer! I spent the month of April launching the “revolutionary” Les Mills BODYCOMBAT 63! At the time of this review, I’ve taught or taken this release about 10 times! BODYCOMBAT as you may know, is the fiercely energetic mixed martial arts inspired cardio workout choreographed by international exercise experts! This release in particular was revolutionary with moves and quite cleverly embedded with the track “Edge of a Revolution”! In honor, my BODY COMBAT 63 antics…
Tip #1 – I thought the war paint went perfectly with this release! Oh and shout out to fabletics for the black top!
Every quarter, Les Mills Group Fitness shares with instructors some educational tips to help us better execute our programs! I was super elated to see this subject matter because one of my fitness SHEroes is currently pregnant and maintained her vigorous instructor schedule for quite a while.
I thought participants would greatly appreciate this information. I’ve seen mommies to be phase in out of programs before and after their pregnancies! I just love to see women continue their fitness efforts while pregnant!
So heres the 411 straight from the international group fitness gurus!
One of the biggest challenges of teaching Les Mills programs or any group fitness class is learning the names of members as they join your class or you take over new classes already on schedules! Over the years, my girls and I have mastered a few ways! So I have a concise post for your teaching portfolio today.
Les Mills programs are so exceptional, I just can’t post enough about them. Anytime I get the chance to highlight a unique benefit of any of the programs, I share it with you! The holidays brought about a pleasant surprise to my day after Christmas Les Mills BODYCOMBAT & Les Mills BODYPUMP combination class.
I was graced with the lovely presence of my 60 year old God Mother! Whoot!
Discaimer – MEDICAL CLEARANCE SHOULD BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO COMMENCING BODYPUMP!
