Learn to Say No and Stick With It

If it’s not a Hell Yes, It’s a No!  My favorite line from a Bloggy Boot Camp conference I attended in Charlotte three years ago.  I reflect on the declaration often and decided to make it the topic for today.  Even though I have mastered the art of saying no, I have to continue to work at it.  It is especially of importance since I’ve been commuting to work for the last nine months.  You may have had a lifestyle change that doesn’t permit you to do all the things you did before.  If so, I am here to encourage that it is perfectly fine to say N.O.!

Birthdays Bring Focus

I took this past week off to celebrate my 34th birthday and to just get away from the J.O.B..  I was really blessed to spend time with my friends and family.  However, today I wanted to share a few things with you that I will be focusing on before I turn 35.

The Real World Sorority Girls: 14 Years a Delta

If your circle consists of people that are members of the NPHC, your March and April social media timelines were probably full of pictures wishing themselves and sorority/fraternity sisters/brothers a happy anniversary! I am no different!  Today is our Deltaversary and it’s been an amazing 14 years!

14 Years a Delta

On my 102nd Founders Day, 5 women were expelled from our sorority for their participation in the VH1 show Sorority girls.

I saw several posts on social media referencing the expulsion of the 5 women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as unreasonable.

As a Diamond Life Member (National Member dues paid for a lifetime) who has been active locally EVERY year since I crossed in 2001 except for the 2 years of course work in pharmacy school, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE EXPULSION! #ByeFelecia Continue reading

A Joy Box for You “Joi-Style”

With the Holiday season comes extreme loneliness for some people.  Some people reside in nursing homes and don’t get visitors. Other people are sick in shut in and cannot attend church services.

If you want to brighten someone’s holiday that is ill or may have recently lost a loved one, here is an act of love that is appropriate year around. I just thought I’d share it with you on My Health Monday to promote some positive mental health for a friend or stranger.

Kids in the Kitchen & Exercise Dance Party

For Act-Fit Friday today, I want to share with you an event from a couple of weekends ago.

MOYO Kids in the Kitchen & Exercise Dance Party

In the League here, I really love that each year we are assigned one MAIN responsibility.  This year, I was the chair of the MOYO party.

The Junior League of Macon, Inc., in partnership with the Motivating Youth Foundation, was responsible for coordinating two events to reward academic achievement and build self-esteem for young ladies in local elementary schools.

Naturally as the chair, I choose the theme of “Kids in the Kitchen (A National League Initiative) & Exercise Dance Party”!

A Girl’s Weekend & A Crouching Tiger Story

Welcome to My Health Monday!  I am feeling really rejuvenated after this past weekend. Today is the day that my sorority sisters and I were initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 12 years ago.  We chose to do a girl’s getaway to celebrate and it was so refreshing mentally for all of us.  Over two months ago I posted about what to do for a Girl’s Night In.  That post has been a top article every since then and that’s before I discovered Pinterest as a resource for the blog a few weeks ago. I thought you all might enjoy a little recap of our long weekend of love, tears, exercise, fellowship, and feasting.

Rx Fitness Lady Happy House

The Happy House was a site to see! It was more than enough room for us to spread out at night to sleep and congregate in different sitting areas throughout the weekend! I was sold as soon as I walked in the door! Continue reading
