Go Where the Fire is, NOT Where You Wish it Would Be

Words from my mentor, Vi-Sis, and business partner!

Go Where the Fire Is, NOT Where You Wish it Would Be - Rx Fitness Lady

Her words were obviously to encourage her downline (THEY WORKED – she went all the way from National Director to Presidential Director, then Ambassador, & 1 Star Ambassador last month…making Vi-history). GO CRYSTAL!  Her words were also appropriate for my feelings!

So much has been going on! I will quickly fill you in!

First & foremost, after almost 8 years, I am more than happy to announce that I will be transitioning off the overnight shift to a day shift pharmacist this week! WHOOP WHOOP!  Tomorrow night will officially be the last night I wake up at 8:00 P.M. and say GOOD MORNING!

I had a really good run with working 7 days on then 7 days off, however, I am officially burned and have been working this transition out over the last 3 months. The time has finally come.

THIS IS A GOOD THING PEOPLE, pray for me as I start next week!

In other news….

Amber Jones RD

Woo Hoo! Look who qualified to get a free BMW courtesy of Visalus! GO Amber!  A few other people on my team did as well, like my rockstar pharmacy school president

RIcketa Moore

and she’s lost 25 pounds as of 3/7…BOOM!  I am so proud of her! She trusted me as she sat in my living room just over 2 months ago, a critic who’s tried numerous weight loss strategies and look what happened! She also has her entire family on board crushing obesity!

Ricketa Down 25 Pounds

This also happened last month!

National Director - A. Joi Jones

Ha, I wasn’t going to share this because my name is spelled all wrong and there was no A!!!  You no, as in Uh – Joi 😉

Seriously, it wasn’t her fault, my boo is big time now! 1-Star Ambassador, so she has a graphic person 🙂 I still love you Crystal!!!

The National Director promotion came with a bonus check & average pay is $3K-$6K up from average Regional Director pay of $1200-$2500/month.  That’s a BOOM for the Jones household!

Vi Promoters

Now you see some of the reason Crystal’s quote was hitting home!!!

GO WHERE THE FIRE IS, NOT WHERE YOU WISH IT WOULD BE!

That is a powerful statement and one of the reasons, I have to scale back my blogging commitments. I LOVE RxFitnessLady, after all, it is my baby!  My blog friends are aware, but for regular readers, you probably couldn’t imagine the time we put into blogging to keep a regular post schedule.

With transitioning to a new pharmacist position, continuing teaching fitness classes, trying to manage my Visalus business & personal life, the vigorous blogging routine was falling lower and lower on the totem pole!

That occurrence initially came with a CARNIVAL CRUISE load of guilt!  However, I had to focus and it just couldn’t happen with all the reading and commenting on blogs.  When I did finally get to touch base! I felt like so many of you (blog friends) for one reason or another were in the same position as me!

WHEW, that made me feel TONS better! Thank you all so much for your kind words and understanding. I anticipate after a smooth transition with my new job and position in my side hustle, that I can resume some sort of regular pattern by April!

  1. So many things happening! Yup, I know how it is transitioning, and trying to keep the blogging schedule. I’m going to do what I can, and that will be it. I’ve managed to keep a 5 day post (even if I had to drop my videos for a while) but it’s what I needed to do! One thing that I won’t drop is my photography challenge! Hahaha, I have to have a benchmark 😉

Good luck to you and starting the day shift and congrats to Crystal and your pharmacy school president! I love seeing people reaching and hitting their goals!

  2. CONGRATS, JOI! I know that must be super exciting… the career counselor in me would say walk in with no expectations. Feel everyone out. Listen to the gossip, but don’t participate until you know the personalities. AND enjoy! 🙂

  3. It does seem to be going around lately! People having to step away from blogging or commenting! Even me! I’ve had a lot of heavy jobs lately. This is still a place I love, and I know it comes back around.
Big congrats on no longer working the night shift and just being all around awesome!

  4. My girl is not gonna be a vampire no mo’! Yayyyy LOL I am amazed that you did the night shift for that long. I think I told you before that I had a late shift at a call center back in the day. It was like 3p to 12a Monday through Friday. And when I would get home, I’d be wired instead of tired. Which meant I slept most of the next day. That threw my productivity way off.

Congratulations to you, Amber, and the Visalus crew! That is awesome. There is absolutely nothing wrong with changing up how you blog. Especially since you are keeping your readers in the know. I have been doing a lot more blog planning which is allowing me to do other things. Monetizing the blog was SUPPOSED to be my side hustle. Writing fiction and freelance articles was supposed to be my full-time gig.

Love the quote! I lost sight of a lot of my goals and I’m making strides to get back on track. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone in order to do it. Tired of thinking coulda, shoulda, woulda. I’m just DOING now. I think you’ll do fine working with others. Get yourself a catch phrase like “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” When someone does/says something crazy, you say your phrase to give yourself and them a minute to relax, relate, release. Ooh, I’m telling my age on that one!

  8. Oh my that quote is a hit!!!! When I read it…it made me realize so many things that can be adjusted!!! Btw, the fire doesn’t have to equate to just money…So I’m definitely making it useful on so many levels in my life!!! It’s got me ready to evaluate what’s important to me!!! The quote, helps you become very conscious about your expectations for you!!! I’m excited for you Joi as always!!! Congrats to Maddam President, Crystal, and Amber Jones and all of your Vi-Team!!!
Wishing you All the very best!!!

  12. Congrats on all the great things that are going on in your life, Joi! I’m super happy for you, my dear. It’s cut-back season for many of us, out of necessity in many cases. I’ve committed to do my best, which right now might be one post per week until things calm down, and let God do the rest. *singing: “It’s a New Season!”* LOL! Hugs, Ali

  13. I know it’s not everyone’s style but I remember that coworkers are coworkers and not friends. I don’t meet up with them socially and have never invited that because I don’t like the drama that comes with it.
My blog is my side hustle. It doesn’t make nearly as much as yours but it makes me happy. Most of the time. I’m feeling a bit burned out right now and need a serious break.
    Love the quote.
    Congrats to everyone! 🙂

  14. Joi, YOU are on fire! Congratulations, girlie!! I, too, have stepped back from blogging over the last few months. As much as I love connecting with everyone, blogging really does fall lower on the totem pole than real life, and tending to the needs of my family. I am so happy for all the positive changes in your life, and regardless if you blog twice a YEAR, I will stay tuned. XOXO

  15. Congrats on all the great news Joi! Yay for the day shift! Yes, blogging has to take a back seat when the personal life needs you more! The blog is a great platform to gain side hustle opportunities, and it is also the very thing that may have to be put on the back burner to fulfill those opportunities. Many blessings to you!

  16. Huge congrats again Joi on becoming National Director!. Your Vi-Sis is obviously one smart lady. Glad you’re following her footsteps to new levels in that business.

Also congrats on your transition. I can’t advise on the co worker part… ;). You know what’s going in on in my life and I don’t feel guilty at all for taking a break from blogging. I’m still trying to respond to the current comments. I still read tons of blogs but because I don’t comment, I can read from my cell, my iPad etc.

I’ve had to make some tough decisions including letting some staff go in order to make sure we have the right team to take our business to the next level.

Enjoyed reading about all the wonderful things going on in your life

  18. Congratulations Joi on all of the awesome changes! My mom works nights, so I understand what you were dealing with there. My side hustle is actually Mary Kay, but due to a major reorganization at my job, everything has suffered over the past few months. I’m still trying to get adjusted to a new work load and a new schedule. Sometimes you have to step back, reevaluate and regroup.

  20. Congratulations to all the wonderful ladies in this post! Keep being great! My website has gone from my side hustle to my full time ‘gig’. So, I am constantly doing things to perfect it. However, I know rest is very important. So, I do not allow my website to consume me. Happy Tuesday, Joi 🙂 Wishing you continued success and peace throughout your journey.
