Full-time Work, Church, and Full-time Mom

What were your thoughts when reading the title? Could you identify?  This is another Student Spotlight feature!

Claudia Noriega is a busy busy lady, but she takes time out to come to BODYCOMBAT express & BODYPUMP every Wednesday morning!   She always has a solemn look on her face in the most intense parts of the workout! It tickles me to pieces.

That look is how she feels about life, get it done and keep it moving!

I asked her why she typed that phrase (the title).  She stated “that’s all I have time to do, boop, boop, and boop!

As a matter of fact, this was the last thing she typed…

I’ll finish later cause I have to go to work

When I got to class, I told her, she had already answered all the questions.  That’s the fast paced life of a single hard working mother! She was so busy, didn’t even realize she had completed the task!

Claudia

I think you will see what I mean by her solemness! It flows through her interview.  My boo is straight to the point!!!

Claudia’s Answers to My Annoying Facebook Message 😉

Claudia Noriega

First introduced to BODYPUMP August 2012 and BODYCOMBAT September 2012.   Its been off and on since then.

Me – Not understanding how it’s been off and on (maybe she only comes on Wednesday, she’s ALWAYS at my class 🙂 )

Favorite class: BODYPUMP

I like that it challenges your body and it helps tone at the same time.

Main challenge is to make time for it every time.

Joi, Great instructor

I am 34 & Loving It!

As always, I am very grateful to members trust me with leading them in their fitness efforts! I love seeing this smiling face every Wednesday morning & I thank her for taking time out to share with us at Rx Fitness Lady!

Hopefully somebody out there can identify with her efforts to raise her daughter, work, perform church obligations, and stick to regular workouts!

How’s that for an Act-Fit Friday?

Since I have a blog, S/O to my Auntie and her daughter! Both of them are celebrating their birthday today! How fun is that. I always thought this was so cool when I was growing up! They always celebrate together too.  This was last year!

Mother & Daughter Birthdays

In honor of today’s feature, no open-ended questions today 🙂 !!!

  • If you are taking a group fitness class, are you team Claudia or do you yell and engage the instructor?
  •  Does your family give you slack about prioritizing gym (workout) time?
  • Are you long-winded and detailed or straight to the point?
  • Do you share a birthday with anyone close to you or maybe a holiday?

  1. I think you probably know, Joi, that I’m long-winded! Unless I’m talking to my husband, in which case I’m straight to the point or else I lose him halfway through. Every time. Funny story about the birthday/holiday questions. I share a birthday with my friend’s dad. And she (my friend) shares a birthday with MY dad. All four in July too!

  2. I like to engage with the instructor if I am comfortable. Generally, I do this more in a spin class. I guess because the lights are off, I feel less self conscious about responding. I had one spin instructor that got everyone involved by having us count down when we were doing an intense hill. It was fun & liberating.

  3. I sometimes engage with the instructor and sometimes I am just doing my thing. The one thing I don’t want to do is engage with the instructor when they adjust me (hands on adjustment). I don’t mind that they do it but I want them to do it and allow me to keep going and move on. I don’t want them to do it and also have a conversation. Pick one or the other!

  4. I can most definitely relate to the title, but I always have much love and respect for single moms. It’s great that she makes it to your class. At least she remembers to take time for her too. Great spotlight.

I engage the instructor if, like Kimberly, I’m comfortable. I’m not afraid to moan and groan and shout if it will help me through the workout.

I share a birthday with Nellie 🙂 does that count?

Im a straight shooter…and that’s the way I like it. But I also love listening to people so I don’t mind the long winds 🙂 now, my husband is looong winded and sometimes if I don’t interrupt, he never stops.lol. If I’m busy, I just tell him to give me the short version before he even starts.lol

  5. Hey Joi! I’m definitely team Claudia, lol! It all depends, I can be straight to the point or as you know(with my previous comments on your blog)…I can be very long-winded. If you think my comments are long, just have a face-to-face with me. Lol! Our oldest son’s birthday is a day after mine, so we always have a Memorial Day barbecue/birthday party together every year. Have a great weekend my friend!!

  6. My writing can be long winded and detailed – comments too 😉 But in person I get to the point.

Cool that Auntie and Daughter share a birthday. My mom and I are day apart. We always did the cake on my birthday. Now Christopher’s birthday is the day after mine so we are three in a row – pretty special.

  7. I don’t have time to engage I am busy hiding from the two instructors classes I did attend. One of my good blog buddies and I share a birthday we are 1 year apart in age but was born at the same time on two different days. My mom’s birthday was Jan 16th, My bday is Dec. 16th and the baby birthday is April 16th……that was really weird and I am still freaked out by this.

  8. Aw! She reminds me of the single mothers in my family. Always working hard and on a mission. Kudos to her for sticking with her workouts and doing all she has to do.

I do workouts at home usually in the mornings after breakfast a few times a week and I take walks with my son outside just about every day. I guess you can say I fit it in- workouts.

I’m definitely more on the long winded side. Can’t you tell by my comments? Lol!

    1. I love this. Fitness is available in so many different forms to fit stages of our lives. Thank you for sharing JT!

  9. I’m with Michell…Sometimes I’m long-winded (depending on who I’m talking to), but a lot of the time, I’m more concise.

Hats off to Claudia for being so dedicated to her goals and to her family. Singles moms are the most amazing people in the world!! XOXO

    1. They hold a special place in my heart. I’ve watched some hard working women manage the role exceptionally.

  10. Oh Joi – I wished I lived closer to you… your pep and vigor, wow! Inspires me. I try to go to the gym. It’s close to home and fairly affordable, I just hate going by myself. I need a workout buddy. Desperately! Maybe I should enroll in a course and then maybe I could find a workout buddy. Or better yet, someone needs to develop “speed-dating” for work out buddies… seriously.

Good for you Claudia… you have a lot going on, yet you take care of your body. Way to go.

    Wishing you a lovely day.
    xoxo
