A QUICK MESSAGE FOR MY HEALTH MONDAY

APRIL IS NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH

Yours in Healthy, Active, & Prosperous Lifestyles,

Brains, Beauty, Business, & BOOTAY Workout…Bye Bye RHOA

First off, YES I watch the Real Housewives of Atl…ALL five seasons, EVERY single episode!

NO JUDGEMENT!

Were you sad to see the Reunion PART 3 this past Sunday?  I mean, enough already!!! As much as I love RHOA, they really stretched the reunion out to make 3 shows.  I will definitely miss these entertainers.  Anyway, my high from season 5 came from this whole workout DVD brawl between Phaedra and Kenya. I love fitness and I have my opinion about the ladies, but for now…I’m jumping in the competition…blog style!  I have brains, beauty, business, & BOOTAY too ;) .

Lit Pregnant Lady and A Buzzed Baby

Does this title even sound logical to  you? Translation for my friends who don’t understand my Southern dialect (Lit = Drunk & Buzzed = not quite drunk but feeling the affects of the alcohol…it’s pretty straight forward).  The point, it’s inappropriate for an infant or unborn baby.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month.  The theme is….

“Help for Today. Hope For Tomorrow”

The aim of this awareness campaign is to give information about alcohol and the disease of alcoholism and treatment.  You are getting more My Health Monday just on a Wednesday ;) !

I am spending a few minutes on the subject of drinking while pregnant because I was alarmed by an article “Can You Drink Alcohol during Pregnancy?” in the November issue of Shape (yes I know this response is late).  I am not even sure how this made the editorial cut for a reality check.

A Girl’s Weekend & A Crouching Tiger Story

Welcome to My Health Monday!  I am feeling really rejuvenated after this past weekend. Today is the day that my sorority sisters and I were initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 12 years ago.  We chose to do a girl’s getaway to celebrate and it was so refreshing mentally for all of us.  Over two months ago I posted about what to do for a Girl’s Night In.  That post has been a top article every since then and that’s before I discovered Pinterest as a resource for the blog a few weeks ago. I thought you all might enjoy a little recap of our long weekend of love, tears, exercise, fellowship, and feasting.

Rx Fitness Lady Happy House

The Happy House was a site to see! It was more than enough room for us to spread out at night to sleep and congregate in different sitting areas throughout the weekend! I was sold as soon as I walked in the door! Continue reading

What to Put in Your Gym Bag

Hi there PFL!  This weekend my line sisters and I are celebrating our 12 years in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. with a girls retreat at a beach house!  I am on schedule to work the ladies out 1 morning, that ‘s super exciting for me.  I don’t think any of them have worked out with me before.  I’ll try to capture a video!  A few pictures for now…

YOU THINK I HAVE ENOUGH ELECTRONICS ON DECK? I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE SPOILED!

ACTION SHOT (HAD TO POST IT) YOU THINK I HAVE ENOUGH ELECTRONICS ON DECK? I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE SPOILED!

On to the matter at hand for Act Fit Friday!  Are you prepared when you go to the gym? We have tapped on gym hygiene a bit here. It takes preperation to stay healthy and safe in such a busy public atmosphere.  I started making this list one night at work and was shocked at how ridiculous it is. Continue reading

What Readers Ought to Know about Rx Fitness Lady

Today I’m getting a little personal here and letting you in on a few things about me that you wouldn’t know from reading this blog.  I have shared a bit about my profession in the past here with Customer Service Confessions.  I also shared a bit about my sorority, undergrad institution,  & my hometown.  This blog is all about my passion for fitness, health, prosperity, and a little dose of  the reality that goes along with it.

My friend Hope of Defining Hope seemed to appreciate that I shared a bit of my personality a few weeks ago here, so here we go!

From Blogger to Speaker: Public Speaking Tips

If you are like me, public speaking can totally give you anxiety!  I would imagine that if you haven’t always been invited to do public speaking engagements that now that you are blogging you have more opportunities.  That’s if you share your blog with people in your inner circle.  Whenever you do something like, have a blog, you instantly give yourself more credibility.   For one, it’s a lot of work and people respect that for whatever subject you choose to blog about.

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT…this is so not just for bloggers!  I’ve had speaking invitations for as long as I can remember & I’m new to blogging.  I thought of this post while I was preparing for a reunion speech I did at my alma mater.  I blogged all about that fabulous day here.

A Review of Les Mills BODYPUMP 85

Greetings PFL!  As you know, I teach Les Mills BODYPUMP; the original barbell weight class that strengthens and tones the body.  It’s an hour long class that works all the major muscle groups!  I teach it twice a week and usually take it one other time from another instructor.

Every 3 months, the international company sends it’s instructors brand new choreography for every program that we teach. It is like CHRISTMAS year round.   BODYPUMP 85 is the second release for 2013 and oh it definitely didn’t disappoint, so let’s jump right into it.

How to Verbally Nix Sexual Harassment

Greetings PFL!  I have some maintenance issues before we get started with the topic for today.  First and most important – I was a guest on Nellie’s blog yesterday, YAY!  Please go check out the post and show her some love while you are there. She has shown me so much love and I appreciate her beyond what I can type in this little paragraph.

The SITSgirls featured my post from last week yesterday as well.  The discussion has been steady every since it posted.   I have learned a lot about varying opinions when it comes to commenting on blogs and I appreciate all of your input.   I have found a #25!  Make sure your comment form is visible to the commenter when they are typing their name.  I got checked about 10 times for that :) .  That should be corrected now.  Let me know if you are still having problems.

BTW…how are you liking getting my replies to your comments via email?  I am loving that it adds to the discussion!

Back to regular programming….

Today we are speaking from the prosperity arm of PFL.   If you get your primary income by working for someone else, then you need to read this.  Women and men for that matter that work outside of the home, I have some questions for you.

Uh, Uh, Oh..You Look So Much Better When You

:) :) :)

People are always telling me to smile!  I read an article and it turns out they’re right!  They just irk me to no end.   You know those positive Patty types that are always like “smile for me, it’s not that bad, blah blah blah”.  That’s who I ‘m referring to.  I was strolling my Instagram last week and ran across a beautiful young lady with the caption “I learned to NEVER look like what I’m going through”.  I though that was so profound.  We never know what people are going through and a smile can make their day, especially at the gym!!!

It’s My Health Monday and unlike last week’s My Health Monday where we had blog talk to prevent migraines, this is a true healthy living topic. Continue reading
